Andreas Grünbichler is a former financial-market regulator and senior insurance executive with more than 30 years in banking, insurance, asset management, risk management and regulation. He was Co-CEO of the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), which he helped establish as the country's integrated supervisor, and a member of CEIOPS and CEBS — the predecessors of EIOPA and the EBA. In industry he served as Group Chief Risk Officer at Zurich Insurance Group and Chief Financial Officer of the Wüstenrot Group, alongside CEO and executive-board roles. He is Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and Honorary Professor at the University of Vienna, and today advises financial institutions and serves as an independent board member in insurance and asset management. He speaks internationally on governance, risk and asset management.
